Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccinations Now Available

The Centers for Disease Control and the Food and Drug Administration have authorized Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11.

Pediatric vaccinations will be given by appointment only at the following public health clinics in the Coastal Health District:

  • Chatham County COVID-19 Vaccination Annex at 1249 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah
  • Chatham County Health Department at 1395 Eisenhower Dr., Savannah
  • Glynn County Health Department at 2747 Fourth Street, Brunswick

You do not have to be a resident of these counties to be vaccinated in these locations. Additional public health clinics and locations may be added in the future. You may also want to check with your child’s pediatrician and local pharmacies regarding availability.

Note for individuals aged 5-17: Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive vaccination. The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine currently authorized for ages 5 and older. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for ages 18 and up.

Schedule an Appointment for COVID-19 Vaccine

Schedule Online

Go to chdcovidvax.org to schedule an appointment, up to eight days in advance.

Residents who need assistance with scheduling can call the Vaccine Call Center at 912-230-5506 to schedule an appointment. The Vaccine Call Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Please be patient as call volume is heavy.

The FDA approved the first COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer-BioNTech, for individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine continues under EUA for individuals 5 – 15 years of age and for a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.


Walk-In Service for COVID-19 Vaccinations

Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are accepted at some sites during specific hours, subject to vaccine availability. Visit our vaccine scheduling page for walk-in hours at our county health departments.


Homebound COVID-19 Vaccinations

Georgia residents who are currently homebound due to an ongoing physical or mental disability and are unable to travel to a COVID-19 vaccination site can request to receive vaccination at their home. Please email HVS@dph.ga.gov with the following information for the person who requires at home vaccination:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • City
  • County
  • Contact phone number

The contact phone number will be used to obtain additional information and schedule the vaccination.
